Where do you paint?
I have a small studio in my home, but I started at the kitchen table many years ago. That being said I always had to put everything painting away after each session no matter how long or short the time I had. One day, I decided that the picturesque view from my living room window was pretty neat, as the icicles were dripping off the big Oak Tree. So when the littles took a nap I got out the snack table, (sometimes known as a TV table) and set up my "painting stuff" and painted. Doesn't seem like a big thing, but it was. I was painting during the day! When the littles woke up I just put the whole table into the closet. My hour or so was pure magic, to me anyway. As my littles got bigger and went to school I graduated to a card table (also known as a folding table). This paining time was becoming more magical as I was beginning to feel more like an artist, not just a mommy, wife and daughter... something sacred was happening to me. It was many years before I graduated to a studio, or sold any of my work or even admitted to anyone that I was an Artis.
You don’t need a studio, you just need a small space to start your magic... it will become your own magical sacred YOU! I believe we are all artists, we just need to admit it!
Great post, much appreciate the time you took to write this.
