Jet Lag???? Not really... always be aware of your physical self.

There are times in our lives that we find we must slow down and take a look at exactly what we are doing with our lives. I had the BEST, the VERY BEST time on my Celtic tour, and wouldn't change anything. When I got home I thought I had a bad case of jet lag. I just couldn't get motivated to do anything other than writing my blog and editing my photos. When I went to my Primary Dr., for a regular check-up...I was surprised. First of all, I have a great Dr. and as I had my Flamingo Queen face mask on, he came into the room and stood on one leg, like a Flamingo, and asked me if I could do it too... Of course, I could and did....We laughed and laughed.... as always.... what a great way to start a visit with the Doctor. In seriousness I started asking my questions, Dr. said you are tired because you are anemic. Without going into many details, I spent the next 3 days in the hospital, had an endoscopy, and had some bleeding ulcers. Sooooooo I am going to take the summer off from all my "Stuff"... I am going to continue with my Celtic Tour Journey, and will be painting for myself...a lot of the beautiful scenery I saw on my trip. That's not to say you can't contact me or take my online classes, (RecolorYourWorld.com), just I will not be teaching in-person or doing any shows this summer. I will be getting myself rested, and back to a much more relaxed routine. I will not lose my Silly or my sense of humor....or stand on one foot like a Flamingo., well maybe......it will be just a little more relaxed.

As I think back to the trip I did notice I was extra winded when going up the Blarney Castle, I did seem to have a dull headache, and was tired. I chalked it up to the pace of the trip, and being out of shape, but maybe not. The sciatica nerve in my leg was acting up and I did take some anti-inflammatory over-the-counter meds. That may have irritated the ulcers and made them bleed because I was very careful about what I ate because I know I have ulcers. Or maybe they just wanted to be pesky.....who really knows???? Some advice...listen to your body......

I thought my little troubles were over and I was on the way to recovery.....not yet....the IV became infected and I had some complications from that, many ice packs, more medication, and more resting was involved. So you all know little Lilly and her obsession with the squirrels of the neighborhood........ Well.....as I got her ready for her afternoon walk, Gary asked me a question as I was half in and half out the front door, I had Lilly in my bad arm, and she saw the squirrel. What happened next?????? Lilly jerked the leash and as I was unsteady, lost my balance and went down....like a ton of bricks. A very hard cement landing, Flamingos flying plants knocked over, and tears were flowing. So Gary brushed me off and captured the squirrel addict, and helped me to the couch. It was bad. I knew something was seriously wrong. I was not able to put any weight on it. Sooooooo we had a little dinner..... now the ankle was super swollen and we decided to go to the hospital. It was mobbed in the emergency room....you would have thought they were giving away something for free. I waited my turn for Xrays.....The Doc said it was not broken, just sprained.....They wrapped it gave me a walker and suggested ice an elevation. So now I have a follow-up with my primary, gastro, and foot specialist. I want to go back to Ireland, I was fine there! Now it is Memorial day weekend and I am on the couch.......smothered with pillows and Lilly.

They say bad things come in 3's....I think I have had my 3's.....

New foot Dr. said I tore all the ligaments on my ankle and foot..so that's why it's so painful...gave me an air brace..and sent me on my way....said I could walk on it if necessary, but I should continue the ice and rest....

As you can see Lilly is looking for forgiveness...and she loves pillows......

On to my blog...
