My Celtic Journey 16 The Ring of Kerry

This was a breathtaking scenic ride, with Stuart at the wheel, he still wouldn't let me help drive, and Michael was narrating the sight to see sprinkled with some fascinating history. I was thinking the Ring of Kerry was another stone site, but it was not. It is a ride around the Iveragh Peninsula in Southwest Irelands county Kerry. It is a circular route 179 KM long around the rugged coastal seaside villages.

Most of my photos are from the coach window, but the beauty is still there. The gentleman with the little picture is Leo Quinlan. He is a local artist that uses the natural slate to paint on. look him up at www.lqart.ie He was delightful to speak with and I was just enamored with his art.

It was delightful to see one of my family names in the little town of Waterville. I was so excited...art shop and a Burns Hotel. The hotel here was the family home, then they built the smaller version on the waters edge. In my ancestoral family tree, there are a lot of Burns, but I have a lot of research to do to see if these Burns are my family. But that would be another blog...on family ancestry....I'm not nearly ready for that....Hahahaha....
